Tessori visits Quaid’s mazar, MQM-P office

KARACHI: A day after taking oath of his new office, Sindh Governor Mohammed Kamran Khan Tessori on Tuesday visited the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah to pay his respects.

He laid a wreath on the grave of the father of the nation, offered fateha and also inked his impressions in the visitors’ book.

“The present circumstances of the country demand to follow the principles of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah. The monsoon rains played havoc with the province. With unity, we can pull the province out of these problems soon,” he said.

Later, Governor Tessori visited the temporary headquarters of his party, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), in Bahadurabad, where he was welcomed by senior leadership and party workers who showered flower petals on him.

Later, he told reporters that he would not leave any stone unturned to address the problems of the province.

He also vowed to take up the issues being raised by the MQM-P for the past many months including rights of urban Sindh and recovery of missing party workers.

“I will definitely make every possible effort to play my role mandated by the Constitution. You will see me raising voice at every relevant forum,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM-P convenor Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui congratulated him for his new role as the Sindh governor and expressed the hope that he would play an active role for resolving long-standing issues of the province.

Meanwhile, according to an MQM-P statement, the governor along with senior party leadership visited the Yasinabad graveyard, laid wreaths on the graves of “party martyrs” and offered fateha.
