Robbers kill motorcyclist, tanker driver in Kohat
KOHAT: Robbers looted and killed a motorcyclist and a tanker driver on the Bannu bypass near Dheri Banda here late on Wednesday night.
An official Irfan Khan told this correspondent here on Thursday that the robbers killed a motorcyclist, Israr, and took away his motorcycle.
In another incident, the robbers opened fire on a moving LPG tanker. The tanker driver, identified as Abdul Rasool from Karachi and travelling along with his son and nephew, died on the spot. Both the children had to spend the night on road in extreme fear.
The city police registered both the cases and have rounded up over 35 suspects for interrogation.
Complaint : A woman has complained that her brother, a rickshaw driver, was taken away by Junglekhel police on Sept 28, 2022, and his whereabouts are not known since then.
Addressing a press conference in Kohat Press Club on Thursday, she said her brother, Abdur Rehman, was ‘missing’ without registration of an FIR and they were not being given information about his whereabouts.
“I am from Darra Adamkhel and residing in Junglekhel with my brother who has come to earn livelihood in Kohat,” she stated. She said she had written to the district police officer that her brother was missing, but to no avail.
She has appealed to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IGP to provide her justice.
SECTION 144: Deputy commissioner, Kohat, Furqan Ashraf on Thursday imposed section 144 for peaceful observance of 12 Rabiul Awwal.
A statement issued here said special contingents had been deployed at the Milad Chowk, which would also accompany the Milad procession.
