Citizens injured in a string of robberies

ISLAMABAD: Two men were injured during robberies while valuables were stolen from different places, police said on Friday.

In the first incident, robbers shot and injured a student identified as Sajid Khan in Shams Colony, police said, adding that two armed men held him at gunpoint and tried to snatch a mobile phone from him. However, he put up resistance as a result of which the robbers opened fire on him, hitting him on his arm.

In a similar incident, robbers beat and injured a man during a robbery on I.J. Principal Road, police said, adding that three gunmen held M. Sohaib at gunpoint and looted valuables from him. However, he put up resistance which annoyed the robbers who beat him up, injuring his leg.

In another incident, two armed men raided the shop of Mohib Hussain in Rawal Town and looted Rs275,000 cash from the counter and two mobile phones from the salesman of a company, police said. Zohaib Ayaz was also deprived of Rs30,000 and mobile phones in I-8.

Likewise, two gunmen raided the clinic of M. Basharat Qadri at Kirpa and looted Rs50,000 cash and three mobile phones. In another incident, three robbers held Sarfaraz Ahmed and his two friends at gunpoint in E-11/4 and looted purses and three mobile phones from them.

Besides, three people intercepted Ali Arsalan in B-17 and snatched Rs100,000 and a mobile phone from him while thieves broke into the house of Faiqa Bibi in G-10/1 and escaped with 12 tola gold ornaments, Rs200,000 cash, an emerald crystal worth Rs5 million, zircon worth Rs900,000, handmade carpet worth Rs3 million and a DVR, police said.

Meanwhile, vehicles were stolen from G-13, G-7/1 and F-11 Markaz, police added.
