Army chief visits flood-hit areas of Badin

KARACHI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday visited flood-affected areas of Badin.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the COAS spent time with the flood-affected people in the relief and medical camps.

He also met with army troops busy in rescue and relief activities in Malkani Sharif in district Badin.

Later, the army chief was flown for aerial reconnaissance of the flood-affected areas of Badin and surroundings.

Also on Friday, Gen Bajwa met with members of the business community in Karachi and appreciated their support for the flood-affected people in the country.

During his interaction with the business community, the army chief said that they had always helped the people of Pakistan during various natural calamities. He also mentioned their support in the recent floods.

“The business community members acknowledged the role and sacrifice made by the Pakistan Army in providing a safe environment for the country’s economic prosperity,” said the ISPR statement.

The businesspersons assured the army chief of their maximum support for the flood-affected people, it added.
