Bajaur police put on alert

BAJAUR: District police officer Abdul Samad Khan on Thursday asked the police officials to remain alert to deal with the fresh wave of insurgency effectively in Bajaur tribal district.

He issued the directives while presiding over a meeting of sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) and station house officers, according to a statement issued by the DPO’s office.

The meeting held at the DPO’s office in Civil Colony, Khar, discussed the law and order situation and the police preparedness to deal with potential wave of insurgency.

The officials were apprised that some miscreantswere trying to disturb the hard-earned peace and normalcy of the district by targeting houses of the local elders with hand grenades and cracker bombs in different areas.

The statement said some anti-peace elements had been activated in the district over the last several weeks to disturb the law and order situation.

“We will not let them succeed in their nefarious designs at any cost,” the DPO said at the meeting.

He informed the police officers that the ongoing joint actions of Bajaur Scouts and police had helped to control the criminal activities in the district. However, all the police personnel should remain alert to thwart any anti-peace activity of the miscreants.
