MPA orders start of classes in Kohat college
KOHAT: Chairman district development advisory committee Ziaullah Bangash has directed to start classes in the Ustarzai Girls Degree College by October 20.
He issued the orders while chairing a meeting to review the progress on the construction of the college, which has been awaiting completion and start of academic activities since 2010.
Mr Bangash was informed that the advertisements for hiring eight female lecturers on contract basis for one year had also been launched.
He directed the communication and works department officials to complete the remaining work on college on a war footing.
The meeting was informed that admission process in the college was going on, and the admission date had been extended till September 30 keeping in view a large number of applications being received.
It was informed that furniture, computers, books and other necessary items would be shifted to the Ustarzai college after the appointment of two watchmen.
The meeting was informed that construction of the college had been delayed due to a land dispute and paucity of funds. It was told that six non-teaching staff, including a laboratory assistant and a clerk, would also be hired.
The meeting was also told that 10 teachers for boys degree college, Bilitang, and eight each for Shakardarra boys and girls colleges were also being hired.
