Afghan scavenger shot dead

KARACHI: A teenager was shot dead in Gulistan-i-Jauhar early on Tuesday morning.

Sharea Faisal police SHO Haji Mohammed Ishaq said Momin, 18, was killed by the firing of unidentified suspects near Millennium Mall. The victim was an Afghan scavenger, he added.

The SHO said the exact location of the incident was not known as an unknown ambulance driver dropped the body at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and disappeared. The hospital staff was informed that the boy was killed at Total Petrol Pump near Millennium Mall, but there was no such fuel station, he added.

Three wounded suspects held

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) arrested three suspected robbers on Tuesday after they got injured in an exchange of firing in Ibrahim Hyderi.

Police identified the held suspects as Rafiq Ahmed, Waqar Ali and Adnan Bashir while their fourth accomplice Rizwan fled from the spot.

The wounded suspects were shifted to the Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for treatment.

Police claimed to have recovered one TT pistol, three mobile phones and two motorcycles from their custody.
