PFF finalizes calendar of activities 2006

LAHORE, Dec 20: The Pakistan U-23 football team will take part in the 10th South Asian Games and Asian Games next year, according to the calender of activities for 2006 finalized by the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).

In the South Asia Games, to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, Pakistan are defending champions.

The Asian Games are scheduled to be held in Doha, Qatar.

The Saarc members - Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will take part in these games.

In addition to two U-23 events, Pakistan national team will also take part in inaugural AFC Challenge Cup, a new edition of the Asian body to develop the game in the continent’s ‘emerging’ football nations. At domestic level, the third PFF premier league will be held from June 20 to Sept 25. The second national women championship will be held in Aug-Sept.

Following is the calender of activities: International: National camp for 10th South Asia Games (Jan 14 - Feb 10)

First AFC Challenge Cup (March 25- March 9)

10th South Asia Games at Colombo (April 18-28)

AFC U-14 Youth Festival (April 21-30)

Second AFC President Cup (May 3-13 )

15th Asian Games at Doha, Qatar (Dec 1-15)

International series against Asian teams (Jan, Feb, June, Nov, Dec). Participation in International tournaments on receipt of Schedule from FIFA/AFC. Domestic events:

National U-14 Festival (Jan 20-28).

District Leagues (Feb 1 Feb March 31).

National U-16 Championship (Feb 18-28)

Youth Development Programme (March-December).

Fourth-Division League (April 1-20).

Third-Division league (May 1-20)

Second National Football Challenge Cup (June 1- July 20).

Transfers of Players (June 10-25)

First Division League and third Pakistan Premier Soccer league (June 20- Sep 25).

Second National Women Championship (Aug-Sep)

Second Division League namely (Nov 10- Dec31).

30th National Games .

National School Championship (October).

National Youth Championships as per instructions of AFC.

Courses/camps. Special coaching course by national coach Salman Ahmed Sharida (18-28 Jan).

Training Camp for U-17 goalkeepers ( January 14)

Referees Basic Course in all provinces (Jan 15- Aug 15).

Youth Development Program (March-December).

Referees Physical/Up Gradation Course (1-10 September)

Five D-License coaching courses. Two AFC C-License Coaching courses.

One AFC B-License Coaching Course.
