20 booked for attacking doctors at BBH

RAWALPINDI: As many as 20 attendants of a patient were booked by police for attacking doctors and injuring one of them at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) on Sunday night.

Dr Bani Amin lodged an FIR with the Waris Khan police that a patient identified as Saeed Akram was brought to the hospital with serious health problems.

The complainant said after examining the patient, his son Sardar Ali and relatives were informed that he was in critical condition.

However, he said, the relatives of the patients attacked the doctors and paramedical staff and started beating them. They also damaged the government property and obstructed the doctors from performing their duty.

The complainant said Dr Talah sustained multiple injuries after being beaten by the attendants.

Police registered a case but have not made any arrest so far.
