ENSURING TRANSPARENCY

ENSURING TRANSPARENCY: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) provides two sheets to the candidate, an original one with a carbon copy. This ensures transparency and helps candidates cross-check their answers by comparing the carbon copy with the actual answers released later. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission should follow the step to ensure transparency.

SERIOUS CONFUSION: The Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) had announced vacancies for certain posts for which the initial examination is about to be held. The candidates seem to be stuck in a quicksand not knowing whether to prepare through the outdated syllabus or to rely on past question papers. The previous government had tried to form the Provincial Management Services, but soon after its ouster, the matter was brushed aside. The BPSC should clear the confusion so that the candidates may prepare accordingly.

POLITICAL PURSUITS: This is with reference to the editorial ‘Political stunt’ (Aug 7). The relentless political pursuit of the opposition leader has cost the economy and the democratic values rather highly. The entire struggle, which once sounded like being about eliminating corruption and the corrupt, now appears to be about achieving political goals. We, as a nation, can only hope that some day our political leadership will finally prioritise the welfare of the people of Pakistan.

LOSING TEMPERAMENT: By definition, sportspersons cannot afford to let their temperament waver during any situation. But the performance of our opposition leader, who has an impressive sports background, suggests he is allowing himself to feel frustrated. He frequently resorts to name-calling and bashing his opponents in a language that suggests a loss of temperament.
