Social safety net to be made accessible to needy: Paracha

ISLAMABAD: Measures will be taken to make social safety net as accessible as possible to those most in need, Pakistan Baitul Mal (PBM) Managing Director Amir Fida Paracha said on Sunday.

He was talking to former deputy speaker of the National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi at the PBM head office.

Mr Paracha said policies of the social welfare organisation were a glimmer of hope for deprived persons throughout the country, adding that pragmatic initiatives would be taken for making it accessible to people from remote areas.

Other relief measures for rehabilitation of needy people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also discussed during the meeting, besides ways to help bomb blast victims and other differently-abled persons.

Initiatives like women empowerment, medical treatment for the poor, educational stipends for deserving students, education and care for vulnerable children are also part of welfare activities in the province.

Mr Kundi hoped that the PBM would become more better under the leadership of Mr Paracha.
