MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 27: Pakistan and Indian forces traded artillery fire on Sunday across their disputed border in Kashmir, police and military sources said.

They said Indian forces opened fire at 2:30pm (0930 GMT) using mortars and medium artillery, targeting the Pando and Chhamb sectors.

The Pakistan forces retaliated, a military source said, adding there were no reports of casualties.

Police said the firing with heavy weapons lasted two hours and was followed by intermittent small-arms fire from the Indian side.—AFP
