Housing scheme faces water issue
LAHORE: The Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) Housing Society is without potable water for the past four days and several complaints lodged with the administration in Lahore as well as the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development have fallen on deaf ears.
The residents on Wednesday protested against the OPF housing society administration over non-availability of water. They said the citizens had to buy water to carry out routine matters and added that the society had two water tanks but one of them was not completely operating while the other was out of working.
They said the number of houses had increased in the scheme and one tank could not cater to the water needs of the residents.
They demanded the administration increase the number of tanks in the society.
“The administration charges Rs1,000 for a 10-marla house and Rs1,500 for a one-kanal house regularly.”
They said the administration was not addressing their problem and they had to protest to highlight the issue. Many of the residents raised the issue on social media, including Twitter.
