Partridge singing competition held

KOHAT: The all Khyber Pakhtunkhwa black partridge singing competition was held at the Kohat Model Township here on Saturday.

The fee to enter contest was Rs500, which also covered food and tea.

Kohat district president of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf and owner of the township, Malik Atif, was the chief guest on the occasion. In all, 530 birds took part in the contest from across the province.

The first prize of Rs20,000 was grabbed by Murad from Mardan, whose bird’s kept singing for two hours and 48 minutes. The second prize of Rs10,000 was won by Shakeel from Kohat, whose bird’s call lasted for one hour and 38 minutes, and the third prize of Rs5,000 was won by Hadi Hamid, also from Kohat, as his bird sang for 55 minutes.
