Futile pedestrian bridge

WHILE travelling back to my home the other day, I asked my colleague to drop me at the G-10 signal of Srinagar Highway in Islamabad, as it was close to my destination. I had planned to walk to my house by crossing the highway through a pedestrian bridge of Orange metro bus station.

To my disappointment, there was no entry point at the station for commuters as well as the pedestrians wanting to cross the road from the graveyard side of the highway. I made several attempts to cross the highway safely, but succeeded only after more than an hour due to the heavy flow of speeding traffic.

The highway has recently been made signal-free. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) constructed U-Turns for swift movement of traffic, giving little chance to the pedestrians to cross the road.

I wonder what was the purpose of constructing this side of the bridge when the authority does not allow any entry from the highway?

The entry point entertains the jungle and the graveyard from where a few people are expected to take a bus ride or to cross the bridge. Considering the inconvenience of the commuters and the pedestrians, the relevant authorities should take notice of this flaw, and fix the matter as soon as possible.
