ISLAMABAD: Aman Atiq defeated Ikramullah Khan to qualify for the main round of the 39th CAS Khyber Cup National Ranking Tennis Cup, which started here on Friday.

In the qualification round which was played on single set format, Aman beat Ikram­ullah 8-3, Taimoor Khan downed Kamran Khan 8-5, Shakirullah outplayed Adnan Khan 8-1, Hasam Khan ousted Ayaz Khan 8-5, Uzair Khan crushed Talha Khan 8-1, Ahmed Nael outclassed Ibrahim Saqib 8-2, Talha Khan blanked Shawal Azeem 8-0 and Jabir Ali beat Azeem Khan 8-2 to move into the main round starting on Saturday.

All prominent players of the country, including veteran Aqeel Khan, are participating in the event.
