MIRPURKHAS: One passenger was killed and 20 others were injured when the van they were travelling in overturned near Kot Mirus on Mirwah Gorchani-Kot Ghulam Mohammad road on Friday.

The speeding van was moving towards Mirpurkhas when it broke it tie-rod and went out of its driver’s control, some of the injured persons said.

The injured, including women and children, were taken to the Kot Ghulam Mohammad Taluka Hospital. One of them, Habib Kumbhar, a resident of Khadim Ali Shah village, was referred to the Mirpurkhas Civil Hospital due to his critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

The body was handed over to the heirs after legal formalities.
