PTI lawmakers, activist get bail

ISLAMABAD: A local court on Thursday granted post arrest bail to two lawmakers of PTI and an activist in the Sindh House storming case.

Civil Judge-cum-Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Inamullah accepted the post arrest bail of PTI’s MNAs Faheem Khan and Ataullah Niazi who were arrested in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on April 26, following dismissal of their pre-arrest bail.

The court granted them bail against Rs100,000 surety bonds.

The same court also accepted the post arrest bail plea of PTI’s activist Tanveer Ahmed Khan.

All the three accused along with others were allegedly involved in March 18 storming of Sindh House. Advocate Faisal Hussain and Advocate Ali Bukhari represented the accused.

The FIR was registered at the Secretariat police station, Islamabad, under section 427, 186, 188, 147, 149, 506, 452 and 341 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

In the FIR it was alleged that the petitioners along with other members of the PTI forcibly tried to enter the Sindh House, violated Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), hurled abuses, raised slogans and broke a gate of the building.

Meanwhile, the additional district and sessions judge (ADSJ) dismissed the application filed by MNA Abdul Qadir Mandokhel seeking to invoke Anti Terrorism Act (ATA) against those attacked the Sindh House.
