MARDAN: Two baby girls were burnt to death when fire broke out in a wooden hut in Cheena area of Rustam tehsil here on Thursday.

The officials of Rescue 1122 said that they rushed to the spot along with firefighters, medical team and ambulance vehicle soon after getting information about the incident and started rescue work.

After extinguishing the fire, the firefighters retrieved the bodies of two baby girls from the hut, which was reduced to ashes. The girls were identified as six-month-old Sidra and two-month-old Thaban.

Police registered the case and have started investigation to find the cause of the blaze.
