Fawad’s plea to sell attached property dismissed

LAHORE: An accountability court on Thursday dismissed an application of former principal secretary to prime minister Fawad Hassan Fawad seeking permission to sell his property attached by the NAB in a reference of assets beyond means.

A prosecutor of the NAB opposed the application and apprised the court about the facts of the case. He said the property in question was mentioned in the reference as crime proceeds money.

Fawad entered into an agreement to sell the property in Rawalpindi for Rs9.25 billion and filed the plea in the court seeking permission to materialise the deal. He contended that the property was made through mortgaged money. He sought permission to sell the property on the pretext of returning money to banks.

The court dismissed the application and denied the accused permission to sell the plaza.
