TI report fully exposed rulers: ANP

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party central general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Tuesday that the latest report of Transparency International (TI) had fully exposed the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

Addressing workers of Khudai Khidmatgar Movement at the party’s central secretariat Bacha Khan Markaz here, he said that the TI report showed that Pakistan’s rank in the corruption perception had slid by 16 spots and now it ranked 140 out of 180 countries around the world.

He said that the report determined inefficiency and incapability of the present government, adding that there was a big difference between running the government and indulging in mudslinging on political rivals from the container.

The function was organised to pay tribute to the volunteers of the movement and distribute awards among the legal heirs of the martyrs of Khudai Khidmatgar Movement.

Mr Hussain, who is also chairman of the movement, said that the TI report had proved that the present government was the most corrupt in the history of Pakistan. He said that the PTI had bulldozed the Constitution and law and violated supremacy of the parliament during the past three and a half years.

Paying tribute to the volunteers of the movement, he described the workers as benefactors of the Pakhtun nation. He said that the volunteers had rendered sacrifices for the prosperity of Pakhtuns. He said that the party would organise public meetings in connection with the death anniversaries of Bacha Khan and Khan Abdul Wali Khan on January 26.
