Investment potential in dairy sector discussed

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Netherlands dairy and cheese sector will visit Pakistan in March to explore investment opportunities and hold business meetings with potential investors for collaboration in the dairy sector.

Ambassador of the Netherlands William Wouter Plomp met Board of Investment (BoI) Chairman Mohammad Azfar Ahsan and Secretary Fareena Mazhar on Thursday to discuss preparations for the visit of the Dutch delegation starting from March 23.

The BoI leadership sensitised the Dutch envoy about Pakistan’s liberal investment regime and the government’s commitment towards investment promotion.

He was apprised of the BoI’s role as the apex investment promotion agency and was also briefed about the special economic zones along with the generous set of incentives available here.

Ambassador Plomp informed the top BoI officials that Netherlands-based FrieslandCampina, one of the world’s largest dairy companies, has established the Pakistan-Netherlands Dairy Excellence Centre in Lahore which would be inaugurated during the two-day visit of a Dutch delegation starting from January 31.
