Missing boy found drowned in Surjani Town stream

KARACHI: A four-year-old boy who had gone missing on Jan 12 was found drowned in a stream in Surjani Town on Thursday.

According to SSP West Suhai Aziz, the boy, Hasban Ahmed, had gone missing after leaving his home in Saiful Mari Goth. The affected family had lodged a kidnap case against unknown suspects the next day. Subsequently, the case was transferred to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) at Garden, she said.

While the AVCC, Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and local police were working jointly to locate the boy, his body was spotted in a stream in Surjani Town, the SSP said, adding it was several days old. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. Quoting doctors, the police officer said the cause of death appeared to be drowning.

Young man shot dead

A 24-year old man was shot dead in the Korangi area late Wednesday night.

Area SHO Shahzada Saleem, who was transferred after the incident, said that Bilal Ahmed, along with his brother, was returning home from a factory when unknown suspects shot him at Vita Chowrangi.

Bilal suffered a bullet wound in his neck and died, the SHO said, adding that the killers did not take away anything.

An Edhi Foundation spokesperson said the youth was killed for posing resistance to suspected robbers.
