Train hits damaged sleepers placed on track

SAHIWAL: The Lahore-bound Musa Pak train (115 Up) was stopped on Wednesday for 30 minutes near Yousafwala railway station because of the breakage of a pressure pipe among three passenger bogies.

Reports said some unidentified men had placed damaged cemented sleepers on the track and the train hit them as a result a pressure pipe broke. The driver reported that the pressure pipe broke because damaged cemented sleepers hit bogies thrice from the left side.

Railway police inspector Amjad Iqbal along with gangmen Muhammad Jahangir and Muhammad Anwar checked train compartments.

After clearance report from the gangmen and repair of pressure pipe, the train was allowed to move towards Lahore.

Amjad said railway police registered a case under section 128 of Railway Act 1890 against unknown men.
