84-year-old Indian takes 11 Covid jabs

NEW DELHI: An 84-year-old man in India claims to have taken 11 Covid vaccine doses saying it has made him healthier, Times of India reported on Thursday.

It said Brahmdeo Mandal, a resident of Orai village in Bihar, believes he has got rid of several ailments after taking the multiple jabs.

The matter came to light on Tuesday when Brahmdeo visited another vaccination site to take 12th dose, the report said. It quoted Madhepura civil surgeon A N Shahi as saying an enquiry has been initiated as to how a person took so many doses of Covid vaccine on a single Aadhaar (official identity) card and mobile number.

Mr Mandal said he visited several vaccination centres on different dates and took the vaccine. “I used my same Aadhaar card and mobile number to get vaccinated at all the sites,” he said, adding that he had noted down the dates of his vaccination in his diary and showed it to the media.

He took the first dose at Puraini health care centre on February 13, 2021 and the next at the same centre on March 13. He preferred another centre and took the third jab at his Orai village sub-health centre on May 19 and the fourth shot at a centre set up at the door of local PDS dealer Bhupendra Bhagat on June 16.
