BAHAWALPUR: The death toll in the coaches’ collision raised to eight when another passenger succumbed to his wounds at the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) here on Tuesday.
According to BVH Director Emergencies Dr Aamir Bokhari, Allah Wasaya died a day after the accident. Forty-six people are under treatment at hospitals.
The Khairpur Tamewali police registered a case FIR No 7/22 under sections 322, 337-G, 427 and 279 of PPC against Muhammad Ramzan, driver of Hasilpur-bound coach No BSA-120.
In his complaint SI Ali Ahmed alleged that driver Ramzan drove the coach with carelessness and violated the one-way rule as a result of which it collided with the coach No VRS-6633 coming from the opposite direction killing its driver Muhammad Yahyah, conductor Muhammad Imran and passengers.
ASI Ghulam Shabbir, one of the accident victims, was laid to rest at Lal Sohanra. A number of people participated in his funeral prayer.

Presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday, the secretary examined the proposal and directed the officials to work on it. The meeting also examined a comprehensive plan for the preparation of the ADP for 2022-23.
