Remand of suspects in Sri Lankan lynching case extended

NAROWAL: Gujranwala special anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday extended the physical remand of the 85 suspects in the murder case of Sri Lankan national Priyantha Kumara for another 14 days.

The Sialkot police produced the 85 suspects in the murder case of the Sri Lankan national in the Gujranwala ATC, asking for extending their physical remand for further investigation into the case.

ATC Judge Natasha Naseem remanded the suspects in the police custody for another 14 days accepting the police request.

The ATC ordered the police to again produce the suspects in the court on January 17. According to sources, police are recovering the articles (weapons) used in the murder from the suspects.
