Key WTO players to meet in Brussels

BRUSSELS, Nov 22: Key players from the US, EU, India and Brazil are expected in Brussels next week along with ministers from the G90 developing states seeking a world trade deal by next month, sources said on Tuesday.

World Trade Organization (WTO) chief Pascal Lamy will also attend the talks on November 30, said a source from the African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) states, which called for the talks on the eve of a regular meeting with the EU.

The meeting will come as efforts accelerate to strike an accord on the so-called Doha Round of world trade talks at a crunch ministerial WTO meeting in mid-December in Hong Kong.—AFP
