UNITED NATIONS: China yesterday [Nov 26] condemned India though not naming her, for launching aggression against Pakistan, with the encouragement and support of the treaty recently concluded with Russia.

Addressing the UN General Assembly, Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Chiao Kuan Hua said the treaty which Russia had signed with a neighbour of China was in essence, one of military alliance. This treaty fully revealed the true feature of “the foreign policy of peace” pursued by the Soviet Union, Mr Chiao said. … “On the question of aggression and anti-aggression, disarmament and arms expansion, peace and war, one must be judged by his deeds,” the Chinese delegate said. — Agencies

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies in Dacca,] Pakistan troops today [Nov 27] repelled five Indian attacks in Jessore, Comilla and Naokhali districts. Each attack was launched in a battalion strength supported by mortars and artillery.

[Staff correspondent adds from Karachi,] Mr Nurul Amin, chief of the United Coalition Party … expressed optimism about the eventual merger of the seven coalescing Rightist parties into a single political organisation.
