KASUR: Sheikh Muhammad Rafiq Qamar, the elder brother of federal minister Sheikh Rashid, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard Hussainpura at Kot Radha Kishan on Wednesday.

Sheikh Rafiq died after a prolonged illness and is survived by a son and four daughters.

A number of people including members of civil society, lawyers, journalists, political workers and leaders of all parties attended the funeral prayers at Markazi Janazgah of Kot Radha Kishan.

Rangers DG Syed Asif Hussain and former mayor Mian Amir also offered funeral prayers and expressed condolence with Sheikh Rashid.
