More dengue cases emerge

ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi and Islamabad reported 66 new cases on Tuesday.

District Health Officer Dr Zaeem Zia said out of 40 cases 22 were reported from urban areas and 18 from rural areas. A dozen patients were admitted to Federal General Hospital, followed by three each at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, two at DHQ Hospital and one at Pims. The remaining were admitted to private hospitals.

During the last 24 hours, indoor residual spray was carried out in 15 houses in different areas of capital and eliminate the potential breeding sites of larva, he said.

Meanwhile, the District Health Authority data showed that 26 patients landed in three government-run hospitals in the garrison city.

It said eight patients arrived from Rawalpindi cantonment areas, four from Potohar Town, five from city areas, three from Chaklala cantonment and remaining from adjoining areas.
