SRINAGAR, Nov 15: Forty-five people were injured, seven seriously, after militants on Tuesday launched a gun and grenade attack on a rally by the former tourism minister of held Kashmir, police said. Ghulam Hassan Mir, the former minister, was slightly injured when the militants attacked the rally in Baramulla district, 40km north of Srinagar.
More than 30 of the injured were taken to hospital.
The attack came after a militant was killed and one arrested on Tuesday when police stormed a hotel to end a two-day siege that began with a deadly rebel attack on a police post in Srinagar.
