Ex-PHC chief justice Abdur Rahman dies
PESHAWAR: Former Peshawar High Court chief justice Abdur Rahman Khan died here on Wednesday at the age of 85 years.
His funeral was held in Battagram village in Shabqadar tehsil of Charssada district, where judges, lawyers, employees of courts, and people from other walks of life were in attendance. The former chief justice was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard there.
He was appointed the high court chief justice in March 1997 and was elevated to the Supreme Court in Nov 1997. He retired in June 2001 and served as a member of the Federal Public Service Commission.
Meanwhile, PHC Chief Justice Qaiser Rashid Khan and judges, and members of the district judiciary offered condolences to his family and prayed to the Almighty Allah to rest his soul in peace.
