RAHIM YAR KHAN: Police claim to have arrested eight facilitators on an intelligence-based information at Katcha area two weeks after the murder of nine people by Indhar Gang at Chowk Mahi area in Sadiqabad.
The rivals, however, claim that police have not arrested anyone involved in the murders near Punjab-Sindh border and they will exact revenge on their own.
The relatives of the deceased told PTI’s Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh during a condolence visit that they would settle the score if the government would not be able to provide justice to the residents of this area.
He lauded PPP MPA Mumtaz Chang’s support for the locals against dacoits’ gangs and said he would strengthen the efforts of Chang.
Mumtaz Chang told Dawn that people were up in arms due to the “incompetence” of the Punjab government and police.
He alleged that police were unable to take action against the gangs in the katcha area despite knowing their whereabouts.
He doubts police claim about the arrest of facilitators saying the videos police had released were old which is evident from the fact that wheat crop could be seen but now there was sugarcane crop in the area.
