Health official, cousin killed in Charsadda attack

CHARSADDA: A health department official and his cousin were killed when the car they were travelling in was ambushed on the Ghani Khan Road here on Tuesday.

The deceased, Sajid Khan Kakar, who is the surveillance officer at the local health department, along with his cousin, Akbar Jan and nephew, Osama was on way to Judicial Complex Charsadda to appear in a case when the accused, namely Tariq and Sadiq of Qasimkhel Tarangzai and Zeshan and Yasir of Khat Korona opened fire on them, Alam Zeb Kakar, a brother of the deceased official, told the police.

He said Sajid Khan died on the spot, while Akbar Jan succumbed to injuries in hospital. He said Osama received injuries in the firing.

The attackers managed to escape after the incident.

The police registered FIR and started investigations.
