KARACHI: Young Mohammad Abbas brushed aside Arham bin Farrukh 3-1 in the final to clinch the cadet boys singles title in the eighth Prof Dr Essa Mohammad Abdullah Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at the Sindh Sports Board (SSB) Sports Complex on Sunday. Abbas won the duel 8-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-8.

The junior boys singles title went to Mohammad Hasan who defeated Raza Abbas also by 3-1 in the final with the scores being 11-8, 6-11, 11-9, 13-11.

The pairs of Hareem and Sadia and Haiqa and Hoor have stormed into the women’s doubles finals after winning their respective semi-finals straight.

The duo of Hareem and Sadia handed a 11-7, 11-9, 11-7 defeat to Saman and Eman while the combination of Haiqa and Hoor breezed past Farah and Abeera 11-4, 11-8, 11-7.

Sadia and Saim overcame Farah and Salman in agonising match 13-11, 11-4, 7-11, 8-11, 11-8 to advance into mixed doubles final where they are slated to face Hoor and Kaif who accounted for Hareem and Saad 16-14, 11-4, 12-10 in the other semi-final.

Meanwhile the men’s singles, which commenced on Sunday, has reached the pre quarter-finals stage.
