Another life lost to Covid-19

ISLAMABAD: A woman succumbed to Covid-19 whereas 50 people were diagnosed with the disease in Rawalpindi and Islamabad district on Wednesday.

Officials of the capital administration said during the last 24 hours, 3749 tests were conducted in the capital and 1.04pc positivity was recorded. A slight increase in the positivity ratio was seen in Pindi as it climbed to 2.1pc from 0.6pc recorded on Tuesday, as per data shared by the District Health Authority.

The deceased was identified as Muneeza bibi, 32, resident of Kallar Syedan, brought to Rawalpindi Institute of Urology (RIU) on Oct 19.

As many as 33 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery during the last 24 hours; 507 samples were collected out of which 496 were declared negative.

In Rawalpindi district, there are 189 active patients. As many as 34 patients are in hospitals including 13 who arrived from other districts and 155 patients are home isolated. One patient is from cantonment, two from city areas and four patients are from Potohar Town. One patient arrived from Kallar Syedan.

There are two patients on ventilators in Rawalpindi, 19 are on oxygen support and 13 are stable.
