Gang involved in child abuse smashed

BAHAWALPUR: The Civil Lines police claimed on Wednesday to have smashed a gang allegedly involved in child abuse and arrested five of its members, including ringleader Muhammad Aamir.

A police official told Dawn that a team at a picket stopped a car on Tuesday night but the driver attempted to escape. The police officials chased the car and managed to stop it at some distance. The police found that four men in the car had a minor boy tied with a rope. The boy (K) told the police that Aamir had a video games shop in Rehman Colony here on Multan Road and some men namely Tariq, Sharif, Waseem, Ahmad Shair and Ahmed visited Aamir’s shop and allegedly abused him sexually. The boy said the suspects bundled him into a case from Lorry Adda, took him to a house where Tariq allegedly assaulted him and made a video.

The boy alleged that he was again bundled into the car and tied with ropes and was being taken to some place.

The Civil police have registered a case against all the suspects and shifted the boy to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH) for medical examination.
