Bail pleas in NAB cases shifted to accountability court

SUKKUR: The Sukkur bench of the Sindh High Court on Tuesday sent all bail applications in references filed by National Accountability Bureau to accountability court in the wake of enforcement of presidential ordinance.

A double bench comprising Justices Zaffar Rajput and Amjad Sahito heard applications for pre-arrest bails in NAB cases and extended bails by 10 days but ordered that from then on the accused should approach an accountability court for further extension in bail or grant of pre-arrest bail under section seven of the presidential ordnance.

The judges dismissed all the bail applications submitted by the accused who were in jails and declared that all NAB cases should be tried in accountability courts under the ordinance.

Among those who are on bail include adviser to Sindh CM on prisons Aijaz Ahmed Jakhrani, Manzoor Wassan and provincial minister Awais Qadir Shah.
