Boy strangled; man shot dead in Dera

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A minor boy was strangled while a man was shot dead in separate incidents here on Saturday, the police said.

Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Lachhra village, lodged a report with the Dera Town police station, stating that body of his eight-year-old son, Amir Hamza, a nursery class student in a private school, was found in a nearby sugarcane field. According to the postmortem report, the child was strangled.

In another incident, a 45-year-old man namely Mohammad Akram, a resident of Jatta area, was shot dead by unidentified persons in Jhuk Jhanddir Kacha village of Prova tehsil.

The police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body to a hospital. A case was registered against unidentified accused.

Meanwhile, a man, namely Ishaq, a resident of Garah Jaanah area, lodged a report with the Kulachi police station, stating that his 34-year-old son, Allah Nawaz, died immediately after being administered an injection by a technician at a medicines store.

The police registered a case and started further investigations.
