LAHORE: A drug dealer was allegedly shot dead by gunmen in Defence Housing Authority here on Thursday.

The armed men ambushed the car of Waqas at Phase 4 in the jurisdiction of Defence-A police, killed him and fled, onlookers told the police.

A police official said that Waqas had been running ice and other drug business in the area for the last many years.

Particularly, he said, he used to supply ice to dance parties and had a rivalry with another party.

He said it seemed that some drug barons had killed him to retain monopoly in the drug business.

The body was shifted to the city morgue for autopsy. The police registered a case.

A source said the police arrested two people in connection with the murder.

DOUBLE MURDER: A man committed suicide shortly after killing his daughter over a property matter in the Shadbagh area.

The resident of Bhaghatpura, the deceased was identified as Shahbaz (55) while his daughter Umme Habiba (16).

According to the initial police inquiries, both exchanged hot words when Habiba demanded her share in the family property.

During heated arguments, the police said, Shahbaz first shot at and killed his daughter and then committed suicide.

On being alerted, the police shifted bodies to the city morgue for autopsy and started investigations into the double murder case.
