KARACHI: Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Befiler, a digital platform, to facilitate its customers in becoming filers of income tax returns.
A press release issued by DIB said the goal is to promote tax filing culture among banking customers. “The bank will act as a facilitator for its customer to avail benefits of being a tax filer and become part of the Active Tax Payer List (ATL) through the Befiler App and web portal. DIB customers will also get guidance and support from Befiler consultants throughout the tax filing process,” the statement said.
The bank said it sees this collaboration as a service towards the national cause of documenting and digitising the economy. At the signing ceremony, DIB CEO Junaid Ahmed said: “The initiative highlights our commitment to facilitate our customers in understanding the importance of tax filing and to equip them with necessary ease in understanding the filing process.”
