THIS refers to the report ‘Legendary comedian Umer Sharif in distress’ (Sept 12) and the letter ‘At whose expense?’ (Sept 19). Life is a series of moments, and people who understand its reality, its challenges and its punishments, along with its blessings, stand up and spread love and happiness in others’ lives.

They love people regardless of anything, like a judge who is always free of prejudice, and they prove themselves to be the true friends of humanity. Umer Sharif is one such individual who has always loved people. He has entertained audiences with wit and humour. We all are with him in his time of distress. His is a life worth saving.
