RAWALPINDI: One person was killed and two others injured when a truck overturned after being hit by a van in front of DHA Phase II on G.T. Road on Sunday.

Ali, 26, died on the spot due to head injuries, while Esa Khan, 25, and Musa Khan, 35, were injured. Esa is stated to be in critical condition.

According to rescue services, the accident occurred when a Suzuki van hit a truck as a result of which the heavy vehicle fell on the van.

Four suspects arrested

The Ramna circle police arrested four suspected criminals, including two members of a bike-lifting gang, and recovered five stolen motorcycles, two snatched mobile phones and 1kg heroine from their possession, a police spokesman said on Sunday.

During the preliminary investigation, the suspected bike lifters confessed to having lifted the motorcycles from various areas of the city. Further investigation is underway, he added.
