936 coronavirus, 91 dengue cases in Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab reported 24 more Covid deaths and 936 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 12,511 and 426,640.

Similarly, 91 more people tested positive for dengue across the province, including 77 in Lahore, and the total number reached 919 in Punjab and 764 in the provincial capital.

The official figures released by the health department on Friday said that the number of new Covid cases, including deaths, were going down in Punjab.

Of the new positive cases of the coronavirus, 447 were reported in Lahore, 79 in Rawalpindi, 49 in Faisalabad, 45 in Sargodha and 38 in Multan.

The data showed the province recorded positivity rate of the virus 6.4% altogether while it was 10.4% in Lahore, 6% in Rawalpindi, 7% In Faisalabad, 6.1% in Multan and 3% in Gujranwala.

The dengue data shows at present 61 patients are under treatment in various hospitals across Punjab, of which 41 are admitted to hospitals of Lahore while 17 patients are under treatment in the hospitals of Rawalpindi.

During last 24 hours, 327,590 indoor and 82,961 outdoor locations were checked across the Punjab province by the health teams to trace and destroy the larvae.
