Committee to probe ‘unprecedented’ exam marks

PESHAWAR: Minister for elementary and secondary education Shahram Khan Tarakai on Wednesday set up a fact-finding and assessment committee to look into the unprecedented marks achieved by students in the matriculation and intermediate examinations.

According to a notification issued by the education department, the Terms of Reference (TORs) for the committee are to verify and reassess the individual papers of the candidates securing above 1,090 marks out of 1,100 in the matriculation and intermediate examinations.

The committee has also been tasked with assessing the track record and history of the students between their present marks and marks obtained in previous examinations, examining the quality of paper checking and policy process by the education boards, and suggesting corrective measures, if any, for future examinations.
