An inefficient portal

THE Pakistan Citizen’s Portal (PCP) has failed to achieve its goal of assisting and resolving the issues of common people who thought that they would not have to visit government offices again and again for the redressal of their genuine grievances.

I have filed eight complaints over a period of two years just to get a single and minor issue resolved. It is not my personal issue either. The latest complaint on the same issue was lodged on April 9, 2021, (No. SD090421-88220908).

After being forwarded by multiple officers, on July 16, the Qasimabad Municipal Committee closed the complaint by commenting that the matter “does not pertain to this department”. One would wonder if the matter does not pertain to the municipal department, then who gave them the authority to close the complaint. Instead, they should have forwarded the complaint to the department concerned.

Just when I was on the verge of losing all hope, the Sindh chief secretary reopened the case on July 28, with strong-worded comments and gave the authorities 15 days to get the issue resolved. Sadly, till the time of writing, 32 days have passed and though the complaint is forwarded from the Hyderabad deputy commissioner to Qasimabad assistant commissioner, the issue remains just as unresolved as it ever was. If issues of such minor nature are not resolved in two long years, how can one expect complicated issues to be resolved?
