8,000 revenue centres to be set up this fiscal: CM
LAHORE: Some 850 revenue centres have been established to provide revenue services on the doorstep and their number will be increased to 8,000 during the current financial year, claims Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
In a statement here on Monday, the chief minister said all sub-registrars offices and e-khidmat centres were providing one-window registration facility and mutation of property services across Punjab. Revenue khidmat kutcheries were providing relief to ordinary people by resolving their complaints and grievances.
He said in order to make a correct assessment of agricultural crops production, a digital girdawari system had also been launched. District gazetteers were also being published to collect updated and concise information of all districts.The chief minister said mobile centres had been introduced for the provision of revenue services to the people of far-flung areas. The revenue court case management system was providing speedy justice, he continued. People would benefit from 100 per cent digitisation of revenue records in the province.
He said state land measuring more than 180,000 acres -- 4,056 acres in urban and more than 176,000 acres in rural areas -- worth Rs462 billion had been retrieved.
The CM said land consolidation was being carried out with the help of information technology and GPS-based satellite systems.
He said the crackdown on land grabbers would continue without any discrimination and no stone would be left unturned to curb the menace of qabza mafia.
The Punjab Board of Revenue had shown a tremendous increase in collection during the last financial year. Against a target of Rs59.8bn, it collected more than Rs62bn and work on launching software bills was also under process, concluded the chief minister.
Meanwhile, Senator Aun Abbas called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Monday.
On this occasion, the CM said the government was fully focused on public service delivery during the last three years and it was determined to go ahead for the welfare of the common man.
For uniform development, Rs360bn district development packages had been given and all areas would benefit equally from it, he said.He said the politics of chaos was not in the interest of the country and nation. Promotion of unity was the need of the hour.
