PM’s stance on Afghanistan raised Pakistan’s standing, says special assistant
TAXILA: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s stance on Afghanistan has raised Pakistan’s standing internationally.
He was speaking at a function held to inaugurate the re-modelling project of Hassanabdal Chowk on Friday.
The project to ease traffic on GT Road and Hazara Road called T-junction of N-5 and N-35 would help ease traffic flow on both the roads. The project would be completed in four months at a cost of Rs74 million and would be executed by the National Highway Authority (NHA).
The PM’s aide said the prime minister’s strong stand not allowing air bases issue and use its territory by the US for any sort of action inside Afghanistan in an interview to a foreign TV channel in June showed that Pakistan was now following a foreign policy based on national interest.
He said the PM showed courage and refused to take part in the war of others.
He was of the view that dreams of India to become a “regional super power” had also shattered after the recent developments in the region.
He said our focus now should be on securing the future generations by getting out of the politics of streets.
The SAPM said the government was working to facilitate the people under the prime minister’s vision and the economic policies would bear fruit within a short span of time.
He said the government was formulating new policies to provide relief to the public, adding the prevailing inflation was due to the poor economic policies and debt-centric regime of the previous governments.
He said Pakistan was successfully moving towards the goal of national development and prosperity.
