SWABI: Heavy rain coupled with thunderstorm caused suspension of power supply to many areas on Sunday night.

Consumers complained on Monday that a majority of people passed the sleepless night due to power breakdown. They said the rainstorm also uprooted trees, signboards and caused boundary walls of houses to collapse in different areas.

Pesco officials said faults in the transmission lines were removed and power supply restored.
